A cottage in Karstorpsvik in Östergötland County in the centre of Sweden takes a leading role for an artist network with Iran, India, USA, Taiwan, Egypt, Mexico, Colombia, England, Holland, Finland, Denmark and Spain during summer 2014 . The exhibition Hidden Art was organized for the second time along Göta Canal and there were art works from all over the world. Different materials and concepts mingled with nature around and in the Canal with its famous water lock system. Göta Canal was constructed in the beginning of 1800, when the area was roadless, and as a necessary transportation route for goods and passengers. Through this same landscape 200 years later Hidden Art creates new connections between different places and the people who move along the Canal. Prior to the exhibition the cottage in Karstorpsvik functioned as a dispatch central where all the art was mailed by post and some pieces were created by the artists on the sight.
The artist Anders Bom Lindén passed on the estate to his family and the artist group Meteor. To make Karstorpsvik into a residency for artists from all over the world was Boms will. Hidden Art by Göta Canal 2011 was the initial to this idea. The interface between the world and his everyday life played an important role in the art practice of Bom Lindén. Letter covers from authorities and bills formed the foundation of a series of pictures. A motorbike was as much a public performance as a rolling sculpture. The forest was another source for a very personal motive in his art. A fir tree plant from Karstorpsvik was planted outside Rosenbad, the Government Building, in Stockholm. Bom Lindéns artistic attitude permeates not only Hidden Art but also other plans for art exhibitions that continues through his life companion and spouse Tamara de Laval and her daughter Isabel Theselius, the rest of the artist family and Meteor.
Bom Artist Residency is situated in a faraway forest hill in Karstorpsvik,7 kilometers from Ljung,12 kilometres from Ljungsbro,30 kilometers northwest of Linköping in the county of Östergötland
